Scott Langley is president of Langley Mining LLC, which offers consulting services on solutions for the mining industry. The company’s services include project planning, process improvement, longwall operations and automation, mine ventilation, ground control, underground and surface construction, mine planning, budgeting and economic analysis, equipment procurement, and safety and risk management.
Langley is also a senior consultant with Stantec, working on mine design optimization, project cost estimates, schedules,
and execution strategies for sites in Canada and Australia.
Previous positions include senior project manager at Jesse Creek Mining, where he provided project management and engineering for a new underground mine, and chief operating officer at White Oak Resources,
where he provided technical and operational leadership of the construction and bottom development phases of a brand new coal company and greenfield underground mine site. The $400M project involved shaft, slope, hoists, conveyors, a 400-meter longwall, off-site water and electrical supply systems, and full surface facilities.
Langley also spent over ten years in various positions with BHP in Australia and the United States. He graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in mining engineering in 1978.
